    Annual Retirement Statements

Full-time employees may now access their new VRS (Virginia Retirement System) Member Benefit Profiles (MBPs) through myVRS, VRS’s secure online access system to member account information. If you have not already done so, participating members will need to sign up for a myVRS member account in order to access their most recent MBP. Click here for the myVRS log in screen.

Creating an account is as easy as clicking the Register Now bar and following the simple instructions. Once you’ve successfully created an account in myVRS, you can view/print your annual MBP, view your account information in real time, and create and save retirement benefit estimates using data from your own account. (Please be sure to save your log-in information for future access to your myVRS account.  If you forget your log-in name or password, you will need to contact VRS directly at 1-888-varetir [827-3847] for a reset.) If you’d like more information about the features of myVRS, please download the myVRS user’s guide, which can be found here.

Supervisors of full-time employees who do not have internet/email access in connection with their positions are asked to forward those names to Claudine Cloutier for follow up.

Part-time employees who have funds in the Part-Time Pension Plan will receive their annual statements at their work locations in the next few weeks. Benefits-eligible part-time employees begin receiving contributions into the Plan after the completion of five continuous years of service.

Information about your retirement benefits can be found on the Human Resources website.

Proposed Changes in Voluntary Early Retirement Program (VERIP)

As we communicated earlier this year, the Boards are considering changes to the Voluntary Early Retirement Incentive Program (VERIP) which include phasing out the VERIP cash stipend benefit over the next six years. The proposed phase-out schedule keeps the benefit unchanged for two years, and then drops by 20% each subsequent year for elimination in 2016-2017.  Click here for additional information.
