The County Office Building Green Roof project, completed in the summer of 2005, replaced a conventional membrane-ballast roof with a living system consisting of soil and vegetation.  Hot weather and limited rainfall strained sedum growth in 2006; however, two years after its installation, the green roof has become a sustainable and thriving ecosystem.  The photos below show the changes in the roof over the last two years.
