Albemarle County Parks is scheduling the replacement of the swimming dock and bridge in the upper lake to begin on Jan. 27, 2014. The lake will be pumped down below 12' requiring the area to be restricted from public access. No fishing will be allowed starting when the pump down process begins. You will still be able to fish in the other lake and the park and trails will be open. Parks are generally open for daylight hours all year. Specific hours for each park are posted at park entrance.

Trout are stocked at Mint Springs Valley Park. A Trout Fishing License is required from October - June. Mint Springs is also stocked with sunfish, channel catfish and large- mouth bass for which a Virginia State Fishing License is required all year.
U.S. Coast Guard-approved boats and crafts welcome. Gasoline-powered motors are prohibited. Electric motors are allowed.
Wheelchair accessible playground, 6 tables and 5 grills scattered throughout the park; 2 picnic shelters, with open grills and electricity; restrooms available. Shelter #1 has 6 picnic tables and Shelter #2 has 3 picnic tables
