Department of Fire Rescue  |  Peer Fitness Training

Program Objective

The objective of the Peer Fitness Trainer (PFT) certification program is to provide a fitness trainer standard consistent with the health and fitness needs of the fire rescue service.  The PFT course is designed and approved by the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF), the American Council on Exercise (ACE), and the International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC).  Those successfully passing the certification examination have demonstrated the knowledge and skills required to design and implement fitness and wellness programs for department personnel.
