Southern & Western Home Southern & Western Urban Neighborhoods Master Plan Avon Corridor Study 5th & Avon Community Advisory Committee

Help design the future of the Avon Street Extended corridor! Albemarle County is studying how Avon Street Extended can better serve all users – pedestrians, bicyclists, and cars – through a combination of roadway improvements and placemaking features. This corridor continues to evolve – join us in learning more about the study, give feedback on draft concepts and sequencing, and highlight the area’s key features for wayfinding.

Albemarle County is currently working with Line + Grade to complete a study of the Avon Street Extended corridor from the City of Charlottesville's corporate limits to its terminus at Route 20. This project was funded through the Neighborhood Improvements Funding Initiative (NIFI) progam.

The process kicked off in December 2018 and is expected to wrap up in late 2019.

Line + Grade presented the draft plan and priority project designs for the Avon Street Extended corridor on September 19, 2019. We invite you to check out the presentation and share your thoughts about the plan and project designs.
