PROTECT NATURAL HERITAGE AS A NEIGHBORHOOD

What We Can Do as a Neighborhood to Protect Albemarle County's Natural Resources?

  • Create a "landscape committee" within your neighborhood association. Protect and encourage the planting of native plants. Control threatening non-native invasive plants.

  • Create a "Friends of a Particular Park" or Public Space in or near your neighborhood. Protect and encourage the growth of native plants and the creation of natural habitats. Control threatening non-native invasive plants.

  • Work with your neighbors to maintain blocks of habitat across public lines, especially contiguous patches of forest.
